Hubei province also called "ER" for short, is located in the central part of the People's Republic of China and situated on the middle reaches of Changjiang (Yangtze) River, which spans the province from west to east. The land of Hubei along the bank of the Changjiang River, beautiful and fertile its long history and rich heritages. One million year ago, the province was once a main living area of palacanthropus; Shengnong or the Emperor of the Flames (Yan), the re most ancestor of the Chinese nation was born in Hubei; In the spring Autumn and Warring States period. Mi Xiong(the first King of Chu State) and his descendants occupied the southern part of China for 800 years. The Chu culture created in this area has always been an important part of the Chinese culture.
